taZ Professional Stage Dance Training
Dance is strenuous. Talent and a desire to communicate trough the body are the essential prerequisites for learning the language of dance. While professional training requires utmost specialization and physical exertion, it must also promote versatility. Besides superior technical skills in Classical Dance, developing Modern and Contemporary Dance techniques is indispensable to crossing the bridge from studio to stage. Concentration, passion, and enthusiasm all complete the stage dancer’s personality, and enable dancers to succeed on and off the stage.
The taZ Certificate Programme in Stage Dance meets these manifold requirements. One distinctive feature of taZ is our classes for boys and men. These carefully heed the specific requirements in the training of young male dancers. Since February 2003, our Certificate in Stage Dance has been recognized by the Canton of Zurich as a state-certified professional qualification. In the near future, taZ will be offering a professional apprenticeship leading to a state diploma.
Methods
Classical-academic dance training at taZ is based on the Waganowa and Tarassow methods. We endeavour to advance existing methodological knowledge to enhance the existing perceptions of Classical Dance.
Our Modern Dance programme teaches a Graham- and Limón-based techniques, enabling students to build on this foundation in contemporary interpretations.
taZ maintains close relationships with a number of renowned international dance schools, whose experience and knowledge we draw on with the greatest respect.
